Hut Bay Police Arrest Jharkhand Man in Major Cross-State Financial Fraud Case

Accused allegedly defrauded complainant, causing substantial financial loss.

Date:

A man from Jharkhand was apprehended by the Hut Bay Police in connection with a high-profile fraud case registered at Hut Bay Police Station in December 2025. The case, logged under FIR No. 78/25, involved allegations of financial deception causing substantial monetary loss to the complainant.

The operation followed credible intelligence and sustained investigation, with officers dispatched to the mainland to trace the accused. The team, working in coordination with local law enforcement in Jharkhand, successfully located the individual and took him into custody.

After completion of legal formalities, the accused was brought to Sri Vijaya Puram and presented before the court, which subsequently remanded him to judicial custody. Authorities confirmed that the arrest pertains to violations under multiple sections of the BNS Act, 2023, including 303(2), 316(2), 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 339, and 340(2).

The case stems from allegations that the accused engaged in fraudulent activities that led to significant financial damage to the victim. The cross-state investigation underscores the legal mechanisms in place to track offenders beyond jurisdictional boundaries and ensure accountability.

Police sources indicated that the operation involved persistent monitoring and follow-ups, emphasizing inter-agency cooperation as a key element in the successful apprehension. The accused is now in judicial custody pending further proceedings.

Officials have appealed to the public to report any suspected financial crimes or fraud to the authorities via the designated helplines, highlighting the importance of citizen participation in law enforcement. The identity of informants is safeguarded under legal provisions.

The case illustrates the procedural framework for handling multi-jurisdictional fraud investigations, from intelligence gathering and coordination with local police, to formal arrest, court presentation, and custody. While no additional incidents were reported during the operation, authorities maintain vigilance to ensure smooth legal compliance.

The arrest marks a significant step in addressing complex financial crimes affecting citizens, reinforcing mechanisms for cross-state accountability and procedural adherence.
