New Delhi, May 15: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the re-examination for NEET (UG) 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, June 21.
The agency stated that the decision had been taken with the approval of the Government of India following the cancellation of the earlier examination conducted on May 3.
In an official announcement issued through social media platform X, the NTA said, “NEET (UG) 2026 – Examination Date Announced. The National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has scheduled the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026.”
The agency also advised students and parents to rely only on official communication channels for examination-related updates and information.
Candidates have been asked to contact the NTA through its official email ID and helpline numbers for clarification regarding the examination process.
Earlier, the NTA had announced cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination after allegations of a question paper leak emerged from multiple states.
According to official data, around 22.79 lakh candidates had registered for the examination this year, making it one of the country’s largest entrance tests for undergraduate medical admissions.
The May 3 examination was cancelled after inputs received from central agencies and findings shared by law enforcement authorities raised concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process.
The controversy surrounding the examination has led to a large-scale investigation into an alleged interstate paper leak network.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the alleged paper leak case.
Officials stated that four accused persons were recently taken to Delhi for further interrogation as investigators attempt to uncover the wider network allegedly involved in the leak.
The accused include Dinesh Binwal, Mangilal Binwal, Mangilal’s son Vikas and Yash Yadav from Haryana.
According to investigators, the accused are being questioned at the CBI headquarters in Delhi to establish the sequence of events and identify other individuals linked to the alleged network.
Earlier, a CBI team conducted searches at properties linked to the Binwal family in Jamwaramgarh area of Jaipur.
Officials stated that family members were questioned during the searches and statements were recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
The agency also reportedly seized documents, electronic devices and digital records from residential premises and associated properties connected to the accused.
The NEET-UG controversy has raised concerns regarding the security and conduct of large-scale competitive examinations in the country, particularly examinations linked to admissions in medical institutions.
Further details regarding admit cards, examination centres and revised schedules are expected to be issued separately by the National Testing Agency in the coming days.
