Sri Vijaya Puram, April 17: The Directorate of Industries, Andaman and Nicobar Administration has scheduled a workshop on April 24 aimed at sensitising startups, MSMEs and entrepreneurs on company law, compliance and business formalisation.
The programme will be held at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Industries in Sri Vijaya Puram from 9:00 AM onwards. Officials said the initiative is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge on regulatory requirements and corporate governance.
The workshop is being organised in coordination with the Registrar of Companies, Chennai, and will feature Aeshala Vamshi Krishna, Deputy Registrar, as a key resource person. The session will cover multiple aspects of company affairs, including incorporation processes through SPICe+, and the formation of Private Limited Companies, Limited Liability Partnerships and One Person Companies.
Participants will also receive guidance on statutory compliance, roles and responsibilities of directors, and procedures related to fundraising, including private placement and foreign direct investment. The concept of dormant company status will also be discussed as part of the agenda.
Officials stated that the workshop is intended to support business formalisation and improve investment readiness among enterprises in the islands. The initiative aligns with broader national programmes such as Startup India and Make in India, which emphasise ease of doing business and entrepreneurship development.
The event is open to existing business owners operating under private limited, LLP or OPC structures, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs, unregistered businesses and industry associations. Authorities said the sessions will focus on helping participants avoid regulatory pitfalls, including issues that could lead to company strike-offs.
The Directorate of Industries has invited interested participants to register for the workshop by April 22. Registration can be completed through the department or via an online form, and a contact number has been provided for assistance.
Officials emphasised that the programme aims to strengthen the local business ecosystem by promoting awareness of legal frameworks and compliance standards necessary for sustainable growth.
