New Delhi, June 2: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened its online portal for Class 12 students seeking verification of issues in scanned answer sheets and re-evaluation of answers, while reports of technical difficulties from candidates have surfaced shortly after the facility went live.
The application window opened on June 2 and will remain available until midnight on June 6. The Board has also introduced Aadhaar-based authentication as an additional security measure to facilitate identity verification and secure access to student records during the application process.
According to CBSE, only students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer books are eligible to apply for verification of issues or seek re-evaluation of specific answers. Candidates dissatisfied with the assessment of their answer sheets can submit requests through the designated online portal.
Under the revised procedure, students must log in using their accounts on the CBSE website and complete Aadhaar authentication before accessing the application system. The Board stated that the move is aimed at strengthening security and ensuring the authenticity of applicants.
For candidates who do not possess an Aadhaar card, CBSE has permitted the use of Aadhaar details belonging to a parent, guardian, or close relative. However, applicants must ensure that the name, date of birth, and gender entered during authentication correspond exactly with the Aadhaar details of the individual being used for verification.
The Board has clarified that the entire process is online, including submission of applications and payment of fees. No offline requests will be accepted, and applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Students seeking verification can report issues such as missing pages in scanned answer books, absence of supplementary sheets, blurred scans, missing maps or graphs, receipt of an incorrect answer book, or evaluation carried out against a different question paper set. CBSE has allowed candidates to include multiple issues and subjects within a single application.
The Board has advised students to carefully review all entries before proceeding with payment. Once applicants select the “Freeze and Proceed to Payment” option, no further modifications can be made. An application will be treated as successfully submitted only after payment is completed through the online payment gateway.
CBSE has fixed the fee for verification of issues at Rs 100 per answer book, while re-evaluation requests will be charged at Rs 25 per question. Payments can be made through UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking.
Candidates applying for re-evaluation may submit requests for one or more questions across different subjects. The application requires students to provide details including question numbers and corresponding page numbers. The Board has also specified that only one re-evaluation application will be permitted, making it necessary for candidates to include all intended requests before final submission.
To assist students, CBSE has released a visual guide and tutorial explaining the application process and common mistakes to avoid while filling out forms. The Board said the results of verification and re-evaluation requests will be communicated after the review process is completed.
Meanwhile, several students reported difficulties accessing the portal after its launch. Complaints posted on social media platform X cited login failures, slow loading pages, payment-related problems, and temporary inaccessibility of the website.
The reported technical issues have triggered concerns among students and parents due to the limited application period. Several candidates have sought clarification on whether the deadline would be extended if the glitches continue. Despite the complaints, CBSE has directed students to adhere to the notified schedule and complete the process within the stipulated timeframe, while maintaining that all existing terms and conditions governing verification and re-evaluation remain unchanged.
