Sri Vijaya Puram, May 20: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for students seeking re-evaluation and verification of marks for the Class XII board examination results declared for the 2026 academic session.
According to an official notification issued by the Board, students who appeared in the CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) 2026 and are dissatisfied with their marks can apply online through the official CBSE portal for obtaining scanned copies of answer books, verification of marks and re-evaluation.
The Board has introduced a two-stage process for candidates applying for post-result services.
In the first stage, students will be allowed to obtain scanned copies of evaluated answer books for the subjects of their choice. The online application window for obtaining scanned answer sheets will remain open from May 19 to May 22 till 11:59 pm.

Following this, candidates can apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both, in the second stage. Applications for these services can be submitted online from May 26 to May 29 till 11:59 pm.
CBSE stated that students must complete the process online through its official website and carefully follow the instructions provided in the notification before submitting applications.
The Board has advised candidates to read all guidelines thoroughly to avoid errors during the application process. Officials indicated that incomplete or incorrect applications may lead to delays or rejection.
The re-evaluation and verification process remains an important mechanism for students seeking clarification regarding awarded marks after the declaration of board examination results. Through verification, candidates can request re-checking of total marks calculation and ensure that all answers have been assessed. Re-evaluation allows students to seek reassessment of specific answers after obtaining scanned copies of their answer books.
The notification comes shortly after the declaration of CBSE board examination results, a period during which many students and parents closely monitor opportunities for review and correction of marks.
Educational institutions and teachers have also advised students to apply carefully and only after assessing whether discrepancies or concerns genuinely exist in their evaluated papers.
CBSE conducts board examinations for lakhs of students across India and abroad every year, and the post-result review process often sees significant participation from candidates seeking transparency in evaluation.
Students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands studying in CBSE-affiliated schools are also eligible to apply under the notified process within the prescribed timeline.
The Board reiterated that all applications must be submitted within the stipulated dates, after which no requests are likely to be entertained. Candidates have also been asked to regularly check the official CBSE website for detailed instructions, fee structure and updates related to the process.
