Business Community Mourns Passing of Former ANCCI Leader A. Mehrzad

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 2: The Andaman and Nicobar business community has expressed grief over the demise of A. Mehrzad, a former General Secretary and Executive Member of the Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ANCCI), remembering him as a dedicated leader who played a significant role in advancing the interests of trade, commerce and industry in the Islands.

In a condolence message, ANCCI described Mehrzad as a committed member of the Chamber whose contributions and leadership left a lasting impact on the local business community. The Chamber noted that his service towards the development of trade and industry in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands would be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

The Chamber’s President, office bearers, Executive Committee members and the wider membership conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and courage to help them cope with the loss.

ANCCI President Dr. K. Chandra Sekharan said the organisation mourns the passing of one of its former office-bearers who had rendered valuable service to the Chamber and the business sector over the years.

Tributes also poured in from members of the community who had worked closely with Mehrzad. TSG Bhasker, Chairman of TSG Charitable Foundation, expressed deep sadness over his demise and recalled his long association with the former ANCCI leader.

Bhasker described Mehrzad as a respected personality and a dedicated voice of the business community who served ANCCI in various capacities, including as General Secretary. He said Mehrzad made significant contributions through his commitment, leadership and service to the organisation and the wider business fraternity.

Remembering him on a personal note, Bhasker said Mehrzad was known for his articulate nature, friendly disposition, hard work and approachable personality. He added that his contributions extended beyond the business sector and included efforts aimed at protecting the interests and welfare of the fishing community in the Islands.

According to Bhasker, Mehrzad’s role in raising issues concerning fishermen and advocating for their rights earned him respect from various sections of society. His efforts, he said, would continue to be remembered by those associated with the sector.

The passing of Mehrzad has prompted an outpouring of condolences from members of the business community, many of whom regarded him as a committed advocate for local enterprises and community welfare initiatives.

Business leaders noted that ANCCI has historically played a key role in representing the concerns of traders, entrepreneurs and industrial stakeholders in the Islands, and Mehrzad’s tenure within the organisation coincided with several efforts aimed at strengthening the voice of the local business community.

Condolence messages from ANCCI and community leaders highlighted both his professional contributions and his personal qualities, describing him as an individual who maintained strong relationships across different sectors and remained actively engaged in public issues affecting the Islands.

As tributes continue to be paid, members of the business fraternity have joined ANCCI and community leaders in extending their sympathies to the bereaved family.

They have prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and for strength and courage to his family during this difficult time.
