Sri Vijaya Puram, May 12: A new stage at Netaji Park was inaugurated on May 9 as part of the Gram Panchayat Wimberlygunj Formation Day celebrations.
The stage was inaugurated by P. Ummer in the presence of elected Panchayati Raj Institution representatives, local leaders and villagers.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by D. Padmavati, K. Venkat Ram Babu, A. Ummar, Achiamma, Fathima and other PRI members and residents of the area. Programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers and community members, making the occasion a memorable one for the locality.

Speaking during the event, P. Ummer said the newly inaugurated stage would serve as an important community asset for the region.
He stated that the facility would be useful for organising political programmes, NGO activities, social gatherings and cultural events in Wimberlygunj and surrounding areas.
The construction of the new stage is expected to significantly strengthen community engagement and social interaction by providing a dedicated and accessible venue for organising public meetings, cultural programmes, awareness campaigns, social gatherings, youth activities, government outreach events, traditional celebrations and various community functions, thereby creating a common space that can promote unity, participation and cultural activities among residents of Wimberlygunj and nearby areas
Residents welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the new infrastructure would support social, cultural and community-related activities in the Panchayat area.
Officials stated that the event formed part of the celebrations marking the formation day of Gram Panchayat Wimberlygunj and highlighted the importance of local self-governance and community participation in development activities.
The inauguration ceremony concluded with interaction among villagers, PRI members and local leaders.
Authorities stated that such community infrastructure projects play an important role in promoting public participation and strengthening local-level social and cultural activities in rural areas.
