Sri Vijaya Puram, June 26: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding allegations of patient referral and transportation-related activities involving BJP State Secretary and Hindu Rashtra Shakti (HRS) State Youth President Angshuman Roy, the social organisation has issued a formal clarification stating that it neither operates nor endorses any patient transportation business and that any such arrangements are personal matters between patients and service providers.
The clarification was issued by Hindu Rashtra Shakti in response to queries from The Wave Andaman seeking details regarding Roy’s alleged involvement in patient referral and transportation-related services.
In a written communication, HRS stated that it is aware of the voluntary humanitarian assistance rendered by Roy to islanders, particularly in cases involving accidents, medical emergencies and hospital-related support. However, the organisation emphasized that transportation arrangements between patients and service providers do not fall within its scope of activities.
“Any transportation-related arrangements between individual patients and service providers are personal matters and do not pertain to Hindu Rashtra Shakti. HRS neither operates nor endorses any patient transportation business,” the organisation said.

The clarification comes at a time when opposition leaders have alleged the existence of a referral-based healthcare business linked to patient transfers from the islands. Roy has already denied those allegations, maintaining that he only assists patients in need and has never accepted money for facilitating medical referrals or transportation.
HRS further stated that it has consistently advocated systemic improvements in healthcare infrastructure across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to the organisation, it has been pursuing the introduction of a free air ambulance service for island residents for the past six years and has received written communication indicating that an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the project has been uploaded by the concerned authorities.
The organisation also highlighted its advocacy efforts regarding healthcare infrastructure, including demands for MRI facilities in district hospitals. It claimed that procurement of three MRI machines is presently under consideration by the authorities. HRS additionally stated that it had earlier sought the procurement of portable X-ray machines, which were subsequently purchased by the Health Department.
Addressing questions regarding Roy’s professional activities, the organisation clarified that he independently operates businesses related to travel services, banner and logo designing, printing and agriculture. It stressed that these activities are undertaken in his personal capacity and have no connection with Hindu Rashtra Shakti.
The organisation also outlined its humanitarian work, stating that since the COVID-19 pandemic it has undertaken various welfare initiatives, including the distribution of medicines and ration supplies to needy families and assistance in conducting more than 35 final rites when families faced difficulties during the pandemic period.

According to HRS, the organisation functions solely for the welfare of islanders and does not operate for the benefit of any individual or private business.
The clarification assumes significance amid a political dispute triggered by a purported leaked audio clip allegedly involving Roy and BJP State President Anil Tiwari. Opposition leaders have alleged that the conversation points to financial interests linked to patient referrals and medical transportation services. Both Roy and the BJP have rejected the allegations, describing them as politically motivated.
Roy has maintained that his involvement has been limited to helping patients secure medical assistance and transportation during emergencies. He has challenged his critics to produce evidence showing that he profited from such activities.
No official investigation findings have yet established any wrongdoing in connection with the allegations, and the authenticity and context of the purported audio clip remain disputed.
