Free Chess Summer Camp Across Andamans to Nurture Young Minds

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 29:
In a unique effort to combine learning with leisure this summer, the Department of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, has announced a Free Chess Summer Camp 2025 for school students across all nine educational zones in the Islands. The month-long camp will run from May 5 to June 4, 2025, with sessions scheduled daily from 9 AM to 12 noon at select venues across the archipelago.

The initiative aims not just to engage students during the summer break, but also to cultivate a deep-rooted interest in chess, a game known for enhancing concentration, memory, and decision-making skills. The camp will provide students with a hands-on, interactive learning experience through live demonstrations, engaging lessons, and friendly mini-tournaments, all under the guidance of trained chess masters.

“This is more than just a summer pastime. It’s a doorway for students to explore the intellectual depth of chess while laying the foundation for future participation in inter-school and state-level competitions,” said an official from the Directorate of Education.

Registration is now open, and interested students and parents are advised to contact the designated coordinators for their respective zones on or before May 3, 2025. Below are the official venues and contact points:
