Sri Vijaya Puram, July 15: The Department of Arts & Culture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has invited applications from registered cultural organisations across the Islands for financial assistance under its Grant-in-Aid (GIA) scheme for the financial year 2026-27. Eligible organisations can apply for assistance of ₹25,000 under the notified scheme before the August 18 deadline.
According to the Department, the financial assistance will be released in accordance with the “Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rules for Grant-in-Aid to Local Cultural Organizations” notified on September 3, 2018. Each eligible organisation will receive a Grant-in-Aid of ₹25,000.
The Department stated that only registered cultural organisations based in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be considered for the assistance.

To qualify for the grant, organisations must have a registered office in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and should be actively engaged in promoting art and culture, national integration and communal harmony. They must also have been functioning in these fields for a minimum period of one year.
Interested organisations have been asked to submit their applications in the prescribed format along with all required supporting documents.
The application format can be downloaded from the Andaman and Nicobar Administration website or obtained from the Directorate of Arts & Culture located at the Cellular Jail Complex.

The Department has directed applicants to submit completed applications to the Director, Directorate of Arts & Culture, Cellular Jail Complex, Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
The last date for submission of applications is August 18, 2026.
The Department said applications received under the scheme will be processed in accordance with the existing Grant-in-Aid rules governing financial assistance to local cultural organisations.
