The AYUSH Wing under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has launched a schedule of regular yoga sessions at healthcare institutions and community locations across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with the initiative aimed at promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being among residents. The classes are open to people of all age groups and fitness levels, with the Directorate inviting citizens across the islands to participate in the programme.
The yoga sessions are being conducted at eight locations spread across North Andaman, North and Middle Andaman, Car Nicobar, Little Andaman, Campbell Bay, Swaraj Dweep and Sri Vijaya Puram, ensuring access to the programme in different parts of the Union Territory.
At the Sub-District Hospital, Diglipur, yoga classes are held in the Yoga Hall from Monday to Friday between 4 pm and 5 pm. At Dr. Rajendra Prasad Hospital, Mayabunder, sessions take place in the Yoga Hall from Monday to Friday between 5.30 am and 6.30 am.

Residents of Car Nicobar can attend yoga classes at the Yoga Hall of Bishop John Richardson Hospital, Perka, from Monday to Saturday between 5 pm and 6 pm. At the Primary Health Centre, Campbell Bay, classes are organised from Monday to Friday between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm.
In Little Andaman, yoga sessions are conducted at the Community Hall, Onge Tikrey, from Monday to Saturday between 5 pm and 6 pm. At the Health and Wellness Centre, Swaraj Dweep, classes are held from Monday to Friday in two batches—5 am to 6 am and 3 pm to 4.30 pm.
In Sri Vijaya Puram, the AYUSH Hospital at Junglighat conducts yoga sessions in its Yoga Hall from Monday to Saturday between 5 am and 6 am and again from 4 pm to 5 pm. Daily morning sessions are also organised at Rajya Sthapana Smarak, Marina Park, from 5.30 am to 6.30 am, except on Wednesdays.
According to the Directorate of Health Services, the regular yoga programme is intended to encourage healthy lifestyle practices, improve physical fitness, reduce stress and enhance overall quality of life. The Directorate has invited residents across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to actively participate in the sessions and benefit from yoga as part of a holistic approach to health and well-being.
