Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 20: Registered cultural organisations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can apply for a ₹25,000 Grant-in-Aid from the Administration for 2026-27, with eligible groups required to submit complete applications by September 15, 2026.
The Department of Art & Culture has invited applications from registered cultural organisations based in the Islands for financial assistance under the Grant-in-Aid (GIA) scheme. The assistance will be provided in accordance with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rules for Grant-in-Aid to local cultural organisations, dated September 3, 2018.
Under the scheme, each eligible organisation will receive ₹25,000 as financial assistance.
To qualify, an organisation must maintain its registered office in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and must be actively involved in promoting art and culture, national integration and communal harmony. It must also have been operational in these areas for at least one year.
The department has asked interested organisations to submit applications in the prescribed format along with all required supporting documents. Incomplete applications or submissions without the required documentation may not meet the stated requirements for consideration.
The prescribed application form is available through the official Andaman and Nicobar Administration website. Applicants can also access the Grant-in-Aid application format through the Department of Art & Culture’s official document link: GIA Application Format 2026-27.

Completed applications must be submitted to the Director, Art & Culture Department, at the Cellular Jail Complex under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
The deadline for submission is September 15, 2026.
The financial assistance is being offered under the existing rules governing grants to local cultural organisations in the Islands. Organisations seeking assistance will therefore need to demonstrate that they meet the prescribed registration, operational and activity-related conditions before submitting their applications.
The scheme covers organisations engaged in areas linked to art and culture, as well as those working to promote national integration and communal harmony. The requirement that organisations have operated in these fields for at least one year establishes the minimum operational eligibility specified by the department.
With the application window now open, eligible registered cultural organisations across the Islands have been asked to complete the prescribed process and submit their documents to the designated office before the September 15 deadline.
