Sri Vijaya Puram, June 8: Andaman College, functioning under the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning (NSCBIHL), has announced the commencement of online admissions for eight undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2026-27 through the Common College Admission Portal (CCAP).
The admission process will begin today on June 8 and remain open until June 28, with applications being accepted up to 4 pm on the final day. College authorities have advised aspiring students to complete the online process well before the deadline, as applications submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
The admission notification covers a diverse range of undergraduate courses, including honours programmes with research components as well as professional and humanities-based disciplines. The available courses include B.Com (General), B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), B.A. (English), B.A. (Economics), B.B.A., B.A. (Sociology), B.Sc. (Psychology), and Bachelor of Performing Arts (Hindustani Music – Vocal and Instrumental).
Officials said the courses have been designed to cater to students with varied academic interests and career aspirations, offering opportunities in commerce, management, social sciences, psychology, literature and performing arts.
The admission process will be conducted entirely through the Common College Admission Portal, which has been introduced to streamline applications and provide a centralized platform for students seeking admission to higher education institutions in the islands.
Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements for their chosen courses can submit applications online during the prescribed period. Authorities emphasized that no offline applications will be entertained and all admission-related processes must be completed through the digital platform.
The opening of admissions marks the beginning of another academic cycle for one of the islands’ key higher education institutions. In recent years, colleges in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have expanded academic offerings in line with evolving educational policies and the growing demand for multidisciplinary learning opportunities.
Education officials noted that honours programmes with research components are increasingly being promoted to encourage critical thinking, analytical skills and academic inquiry among undergraduate students. Such programmes are aligned with broader higher education reforms aimed at strengthening research-oriented learning at the undergraduate level.
The inclusion of courses such as psychology, sociology and economics reflects growing student interest in social sciences and behavioural studies, while programmes in commerce and business administration continue to attract candidates seeking careers in finance, management and entrepreneurship.
The Bachelor of Performing Arts programme in Hindustani Music is expected to provide opportunities for students interested in formal training and academic study in vocal and instrumental music traditions. The course represents one of the specialised offerings available through the institution.
College authorities have urged prospective applicants to carefully review the admission guidelines and eligibility criteria before submitting their forms. Students have also been advised to download and read the Andaman College Prospectus for the academic year 2026-27, which contains detailed information regarding courses, eligibility requirements, reservation policies, fee structures and admission procedures.
With higher education opportunities continuing to expand in the islands, officials expect considerable interest from students completing their school education this year. The online admission process is expected to facilitate smoother applications and wider access to undergraduate programmes across disciplines.
Authorities reiterated that applications received after the stipulated deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances and advised candidates to complete registration and document uploads well in advance to avoid last-minute technical difficulties.
