Sri Vijaya Puram, August 13: Akashvani Sri Vijaya Puram will broadcast a series of special programmes to mark Independence Day, including the President’s address to the nation, the Prime Minister’s address from the Red Fort and the Lieutenant Governor’s address to the people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The special broadcasts will begin on August 14 with the President’s address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day. The address will be aired at 7 p.m. through Akashvani Sri Vijaya Puram.
On August 15, the station will commence its live Independence Day coverage from 7 a.m. onwards. The broadcast will include the national Flag Hoisting Ceremony and the Prime Minister’s address to the nation from the Red Fort in New Delhi.
The station will continue its live coverage from 8.50 a.m. with a direct relay of the Flag Hoisting Ceremony and the address to the Islanders by Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Admiral D.K. Joshi, from Netaji Stadium.
The scheduled broadcasts will provide listeners across the Islands with live coverage of the national and Union Territory-level Independence Day ceremonies, including the addresses delivered during the official functions.
The programme forms part of Akashvani Sri Vijaya Puram’s Independence Day broadcast schedule, ensuring that audiences across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can follow the ceremonial events and official addresses as they are delivered on August 14 and August 15.
