Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 31:  Vijay Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Aberdeen Police Station in Sri Vijaya Puram, has been selected for the Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak 2026, a Union Home Ministry award recognising meritorious work in special operations, investigation and forensic science.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, announced the awardees on October 30, 2026, with the approval of the Union Home Minister. Kumar is among the officers selected for the national-level recognition.

The medal honours excellence in three specialised fields of policing: special operations, investigation, and forensic science.
