Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 01: Several areas of Sri Vijaya Puram will face scheduled power outages on October 1 and 3 as authorities undertake urgent pipeline rectification and electrical maintenance work, affecting residential areas, government complexes and key public-service locations.
Power supply will remain suspended on October 1 from 7 am to 1 pm due to the shutdown of 11 kV and 33 kV underground power cables. The precautionary shutdown will facilitate urgent pipeline rectification work being carried out by APWD opposite VKV School at Lamba Line.
The October 1 outage will affect Dairy Farm Junction, CPWD Complex, Lamba Line, Ranchi Tekri and the entire School Line area. Parts of Minnie Bay, Gurudwara Line, Bengali Club, Biggi Line, Anthropological Museum, Middle Point, Link Road, VIP Road, Police Line and Junglighat will also be affected.
A separate shutdown has been scheduled for October 3 from 8 am to 1 pm to facilitate maintenance of the 11 kV bus connected to the 10 MVA transformer at Chatham Power House.
The affected areas on October 3 will include Buniyadabad, AIR, DDK Colony, parts of Delanipur and Prem Nagar, Coast Guard Enclave, Coast Guard Headquarters, Coast Guard Jetty, Panipat Road and Fortress Headquarters.
The planned interruptions cover areas with residential settlements as well as government and institutional facilities, making the scheduled timings relevant for electricity consumers and departments operating in the affected locations.
The October 1 shutdown is linked to infrastructure work being undertaken by APWD, with the electricity network being taken offline as a precaution while the pipeline rectification is carried out. The October 3 interruption, meanwhile, is specifically linked to maintenance of electrical infrastructure at Chatham Power House.
Consumers, the general public and government departments in the listed areas have been informed about the scheduled interruptions to enable them to account for the temporary disruption in power supply.
