Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 01: Farmers whose PM-KISAN records still lack mandatory verification requirements will get another opportunity to complete them during a special drive running from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has asked States and Union Territories to facilitate the exercise to ensure that the beneficiary database remains accurate and verified.
The Central Sector Scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) was launched by the Government of India in 2018-19 to provide financial assistance to eligible farmer families. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each. So far, 23 instalments have been released.
The government introduced mandatory verification requirements in phases as part of the scheme. Land seeding became mandatory from the 12th instalment, Aadhaar seeding with the beneficiary’s bank account from the 14th instalment, and e-KYC from the 15th instalment.
Despite efforts to help beneficiaries complete these requirements, some farmer records continue to have one or more mandatory requirements pending. The government has conducted saturation drives, field-level campaigns and awareness programmes and used Common Service Centres (CSCs) and SMS communications to facilitate compliance.
The latest special drive gives States and Union Territories another opportunity to reach beneficiaries whose records remain incomplete and assist them in completing the required verification.
PM-KISAN beneficiaries who have not completed land seeding, e-KYC or Aadhaar seeding with their bank accounts have been asked to complete the pending requirements during the month-long drive.
The exercise also carries a specific consequence for beneficiaries who do not complete the requirements within the special-drive period. Farmers whose mandatory requirements remain pending after the drive will have to apply afresh under the prescribed PM-KISAN application process. They will then have to complete all mandatory verification requirements.
For assistance with completing the pending requirements, beneficiaries can approach their concerned Zonal Agriculture Office or the nearest Agriculture Sub-depot of the Department of Agriculture.
The October exercise therefore places the immediate focus on completing the verification steps required for continued processing under PM-KISAN, while giving agriculture authorities across States and Union Territories a defined period to facilitate the process.
