Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 17: Students seeking fresh admission or re-registration with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for the July 2026 session now have additional time, with the deadline extended to September 30, 2026.
The extension applies to fresh admissions across IGNOU programmes, except certificate programmes and semester-based programmes. It also covers re-registration for the session, subject to a late fee of Rs 200.
Students opting for fresh admission can access the “Student Service-Admission Section” on the official IGNOU website to begin the admission process. Those completing re-registration can use the IGNOU Samarth Portal for students.

The extended deadline provides students who have yet to complete the required admission or re-registration process with additional time to do so within the revised schedule. The university has specified that the extension does not cover certificate and semester-based programmes for fresh admission.
For further assistance and details, students in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can contact the IGNOU Regional Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram. The Regional Centre can be reached at 03192-242888 or 03192-230111.
Students can also seek information from the Regional Centre through email at rcportblair@ignou.ac.in.
The revised September 30 deadline applies to the July 2026 session and covers the categories specified by IGNOU in its extension. Students undertaking re-registration under the extended window will be required to pay the applicable Rs 200 late fee.
The extension gives eligible students in the islands and elsewhere additional time to complete their respective processes through the designated IGNOU platforms before the revised deadline.
