Traffic Restrictions Announced in Sri Vijaya Puram Ahead of VVIP Visit on August 8 and 9

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 7: Temporary traffic restrictions will be in force across key roads in Sri Vijaya Puram on August 8 and 9 during the forthcoming VVIP visit. Residents and commuters in Sri Vijaya Puram will face temporary traffic restrictions on August 8 and 9 as the District Administration implements special traffic arrangements for the forthcoming VVIP visit. The restrictions will be enforced on several key roads at specified hours to facilitate the safe, secure, and smooth movement of the VVIP convoy.

According to the traffic advisory, the restrictions on Saturday, August 8, will remain in force from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and again from 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. During these periods, traffic movement will be regulated on VIP Road and Cellular Jail Road.

On Sunday, August 9, traffic regulations will be implemented from 7.30 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. and from 12.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The affected stretches include Marina Park Road up to Flag Point, VIP Road, Dollygunj Road up to DBRAIT, and Phoenix Bay Jetty Road.

The District Administration has advised the public to avoid these routes during the notified timings and, wherever possible, use alternate routes to minimise inconvenience and support smooth traffic management during the VVIP movement.

The advisory clarifies that emergency services will not be affected by the restrictions. Ambulances, fire tenders and other emergency vehicles will be allowed to use the regulated routes throughout the period of traffic control.

Residents have also been requested to cooperate with the traffic police and follow directions issued by personnel deployed along the affected routes to ensure orderly movement and effective implementation of the temporary regulations.

For traffic-related assistance or information on alternate routes, the public may contact the Traffic Control Room at 03192-243812 or the WhatsApp Helpline at 9531892228.

The District Administration has sought the cooperation and understanding of residents and commuters in ensuring the smooth conduct of the forthcoming VVIP visit while adhering to the temporary traffic arrangements in Sri Vijaya Puram.
