New Delhi, October 21: Delhi Police have arrested four more people, including two women, in connection with the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, as investigators examine an alleged interstate weapons supply network and attempts to help the shooters escape Mumbai.
The Special Cell’s NDR unit made the arrests on October 20. Police identified the accused as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, from Haryana’s Sonipat district, and Radha, 23, and Babita, 23, from Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur and Azamgarh districts, respectively.
Investigators are tracing the movement of a pistol and ammunition from Amritsar to Mumbai, including the involvement of intermediaries who allegedly transported and delivered the weapon before the October 18 shooting.
According to police, Kunal, who recently secured bail following imprisonment, established contact with Anil Pandit through a friend. They subsequently communicated through an encrypted messaging application.
Police allege that Kunal collected a pistol and 20 cartridges from Amritsar on Pandit’s instructions, with Sumit accompanying him.
Investigators said Kunal had met Radha approximately two months earlier and allegedly persuaded her to transport the firearm after informing her about his activities.
On October 15, Kunal reportedly accompanied both women to New Delhi railway station after allegedly placing the pistol inside Radha’s bag.
The women reached Dadar on October 17 and checked into a hotel. Around 11 am, a minor allegedly collected the bag from Radha near the premises.
Police are examining who subsequently received the consignment and whether the firearm reached those responsible for the shooting.
Following the incident, Pandit allegedly contacted Kunal, claiming the shooters remained stranded in Mumbai and seeking assistance with their escape.
Radha and Babita subsequently travelled towards Delhi aboard the Haridwar Express. Police apprehended them at New Delhi railway station, while officers detained Kunal and Sumit in Sonipat.
Meanwhile, the suspected shooters reportedly fled to Surat, Gujarat, before boarding a Jaipur-bound train. Investigators believe they intended to reach Delhi by bus and subsequently escape to Nepal.
Mumbai Police arrested three accused in Kota, Rajasthan, in connection with the incident.
The latest arrests have expanded the investigation beyond the shooting itself to examine alleged weapons transportation, communication between intermediaries and arrangements for the suspects’ movements.
Police continue investigating the suspected network and the circumstances surrounding the firing.
