Rangat, June 30: An STS bus carrying 55 passengers overturned at Shabari in Rangat on Tuesday morning, leaving several passengers injured and prompting an official investigation into the cause of the accident.
The accident occurred between 10 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. when the bus reportedly overturned while travelling through the Shabari area. Emergency response teams shifted the injured to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
According to initial information, 10 passengers who sustained injuries were referred to GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, for advanced medical care. Other passengers who suffered minor injuries are undergoing treatment at Rangat hospital.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident. Officials are examining whether the incident resulted from brake failure or any other mechanical defect, while other possible causes, including human error, are also being examined as part of the inquiry.
Officials stated that the exact cause of the accident will be established only after completion of the investigation.
The accident disrupted normal movement in the area as authorities responded to the incident and coordinated medical assistance for the injured passengers.
