Sri Vijaya Puram, July 14: Sheeraj Projects Private Limited will develop two major eco-tourism resorts worth more than ₹593 crore in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands after being selected as the concessionaire for two Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects awarded by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation (ANIIDCO).
The two hospitality projects, to be developed at Sri Vijaya Puram and Shaheed Dweep, are intended to strengthen tourism infrastructure through the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model.
The larger of the two projects involves the development of a five-star eco-tourism resort at Shaheed Dweep. Awarded by ANIIDCO, the project carries a contract value of ₹297.1 crore and will be executed under a 75-year concession period, which includes a three-year construction phase.

The second project involves the redevelopment of the Megapode Resort at Sri Vijaya Puram. Also awarded under the DBFOT model, the project has a contract value of ₹296 crore and will be implemented under a 50-year concession period, including three years earmarked for construction.
The projects represent two of the major tourism infrastructure initiatives being undertaken through the public-private partnership framework in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
As part of the project engagement, the company’s top management, led by Chairman Rajender Singh Pannu, met Lieutenant Governor Admiral D. K. Joshi (Retd.), who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Islands Development Agency, at Lok Niwas.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the increase in tourist arrivals to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and stressed the need for the timely completion of both hospitality projects.

He said the early execution of the developments would play an important role in strengthening tourism infrastructure across the Islands while promoting sustainable, high-end eco-tourism.
The projects will be implemented under long-term concession agreements, with the Shaheed Dweep resort operating under a 75-year concession and the Megapode Resort redevelopment under a 50-year concession. Both agreements include a three-year construction period before commercial operations commence.
The development of the two resorts forms part of the Administration’s tourism infrastructure initiatives being executed through ANIIDCO under the PPP model, with an emphasis on expanding high-end hospitality facilities and supporting sustainable tourism growth in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
