Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 1: A total of 24 rural youth and women from South Andaman have completed a skill development programme designed to promote self-employment in the food business, as the State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI-RSETI) concluded its Fast Food Stall Udyami Training Programme.
The 12-day training programme was conducted by SBI-RSETI, Sri Vijaya Puram, from July 6 to July 18, 2026. The initiative aimed to equip participants with practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge required to establish self-employment ventures in the fast food sector.
The programme concluded with a valedictory function during which Regional Manager, State Bank of India, Santosh Sahu, addressed the participants. He encouraged the trainees to make effective use of the practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills acquired during the training while setting up their own enterprises.
Sahu said self-employment has the potential to strengthen financial independence and encouraged participants to pursue entrepreneurship as a sustainable livelihood option. He also expressed hope that the trained candidates would motivate other rural youth to explore entrepreneurship opportunities.
Director of SBI-RSETI, C. Raj, also addressed the gathering and expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the training programme. The programme marked the conclusion of nearly two weeks of training focused on preparing participants to enter the fast food business through self-employment.
The training benefited 24 participants drawn from different parts of South Andaman. It combined practical learning with entrepreneurial guidance to help trainees understand the requirements of starting and managing small business ventures in the fast food sector.
The Fast Food Stall Udyami Training Programme formed part of SBI-RSETI’s efforts to build entrepreneurial capacity among rural youth and women by providing skill-based training that supports self-employment opportunities.
With the successful completion of the programme, the trainees are expected to utilise the skills and knowledge acquired during the 12-day course in establishing their own enterprises in the fast food sector.
