Sri Vijaya Puram, July 17: Member of Parliament Bishnu Pada Ray has urged the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to reopen the online application portal and extend the deadline for the Combined Matric Level Recruitment Examination, 2026 and the Combined Higher Secondary Level Recruitment Examination, 2026 by at least one week, citing technical glitches that allegedly prevented eligible candidates from submitting their applications.
In a representation addressed to the Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, the MP sought immediate intervention to restore access to the recruitment portal and provide additional time for candidates affected by the reported technical problems.
According to the representation, the MP said he had received numerous complaints and representations from aspiring candidates across the Islands regarding persistent technical issues on the official recruitment portal. The candidates reportedly stated that the portal remained inaccessible or repeatedly malfunctioned while they attempted to upload application forms and supporting documents, despite making several attempts and having stable internet connectivity.
The MP further stated that while other online services operated by the Administration, including the college admission portal and citizen services such as the issuance of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificates, were functioning normally, the recruitment portal alone continued to experience technical difficulties.
He said the reported malfunction resulted in several eligible candidates being unable to complete the online application process within the prescribed deadline.
According to the representation, a number of affected candidates have already submitted individual requests to the Administration seeking relief over their inability to submit applications because of the portal issues.
In view of the representations received and the difficulties faced by applicants, Bishnu Pada Ray requested the Administration to reopen the recruitment portal after restoring its normal functioning and extend the last date for submission of online applications by at least one week.
The MP stated that extending the deadline after ensuring the portal functions properly would provide equal opportunity to all eligible candidates and help maintain fairness and transparency in the recruitment process. He also said the move would safeguard the interests of aspirants seeking employment through the Combined Matric Level Recruitment Examination, 2026 and the Combined Higher Secondary Level Recruitment Examination, 2026.
