14-Year-Old Girl Missing From New Pahargaon Traced After Five-Day Search

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 24: A five-day search for a 14-year-old girl who went missing from New Pahargaon ended on August 22 after the Class IX student was traced to the residence of an adult man and safely reunited with her family, according to information available in the case.

The girl, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Prothrapur, had been reported missing after she failed to return home. Her disappearance was reported to Pahargaon Police Station on August 19, following which authorities began efforts to establish her whereabouts.

Investigators pursued multiple leads during the search and made inquiries involving people connected to the case. Information from the girl’s friends and other possible leads formed part of the efforts to trace her during the five-day search.

The girl was eventually located at the residence of an adult male, where he was staying with his mother, according to information available. The minor was allegedly kept at the house after the man persuaded her to accompany him.

Authorities brought the girl back after locating her on August 22. She subsequently underwent counselling before being handed over to her family.

The recovery has ended the immediate search for the missing teenager, but the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and her stay at the adult man’s residence remain under investigation.

Authorities are examining the circumstances in which the girl allegedly accompanied the man and was subsequently kept at the residence. The investigation will also determine the facts surrounding the events that followed her disappearance from home.

Further legal action will depend on the findings of the investigation and the applicable law. No conclusion regarding the allegations has been made at this stage.

The case began after the teenager failed to return home, prompting her family to approach Pahargaon Police Station on August 19. Police then explored several possible leads to establish her movements and whereabouts.

During the search, investigators made inquiries with people connected to the case and examined information that could help establish the teenager’s movements after she went missing. Efforts continued until she was located on August 22.

The girl’s safe return has brought the five-day search operation to an end, while the investigation has now shifted towards establishing the circumstances that led to her being at the adult man’s residence.

Authorities are continuing to examine the available information before determining the next legal steps in the case. The matter remains under investigation, and any further action will be based on the findings and provisions of applicable law.
