Sri Vijaya Puram, August 18: Students seeking higher education opportunities in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been given additional time for postgraduate applications at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), while Andaman College (ANCOL) has opened spot admissions against vacant seats in eight undergraduate programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.
JNRM, a constituent college of NSCBIHL, a Deemed to be University, has extended the deadline for submitting offline admission applications for various postgraduate courses to August 20, 2026. The college has also revised the schedule for the subsequent admission process.
Under the revised schedule, candidates can submit applications through offline mode until August 20. The provisional merit list will be displayed on August 22, followed by the window for claims and objections until August 24. The final merit list will be published on August 25, while admission counselling will take place on August 28.
Candidates can download the application form through the Common College Admission Portal (CCAP). The prospectus containing further details is also available on the portal. Completed applications must be submitted offline to the concerned interdisciplinary department.
The respective department will conduct the admission process, including publication of the provisional merit list, consideration of claims and objections, publication of the final merit list and admission counselling, according to the revised schedule. Classes for the postgraduate courses will begin from August 31, 2026.
Separately, ANCOL has invited eligible and qualified candidates for spot admission against vacant seats in eight undergraduate programmes for the 2026–27 session.
The programmes include B.Com. (General), B.Com. (Corporate Secretaryship), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA-Music), B.A. Economics, B.A. Sociology, B.A. English and B.Sc Psychology.
Students from Arts, Science or Commerce streams can apply for the listed programmes, provided they have passed English as one of the compulsory subjects in Class XII.
Eligible candidates seeking spot admission have been asked to report to ANCOL on August 20 from 2:30 pm onwards with the required original documents and prescribed fees.
The college has also issued a final opportunity to students who have received provisional admission but have not deposited the required fees or submitted necessary documents. They must complete all admission formalities by August 19.
Failure to complete the requirements within the stipulated deadline will lead to cancellation of provisional admission. The seats released as a result will then be made available to other eligible candidates during the final spot admission process.
