Sri Vijaya Puram, August 18: Government and private schools from around the South Andaman headquarters area took part in an Inter-School Sports Quiz organised as part of National Sports Day 2026, bringing students together to compete in a test of sports-related knowledge. The competition was organised by the Sports Section of the Deputy Education Office, South Andaman, at the GSSS Mohanpura Hall.
The participating schools competed through successive rounds, with the final round determining the top three positions. Students from six schools featured among the winning teams across the three positions.
The first position went to the team from SSS NCS, comprising Kr. Shaurya Goenka of Class X and Kr. Dev Sarkar of Class XI.
The second position was secured by SSS MGIS. Its team comprised Kr. Avinash Singh of Class XII and Kr. Ramit Mazumdar of Class XII.

SSS Carmel finished third, with Kr. Galav Saha of Class XI and Kr. P. Midhun Vettaiyaar of Class XI representing the school.
The competition concluded after an intensive final round of questioning, with the participating students competing for the top positions.
Officials from the Deputy Education Office, South Andaman, commended the participants for their preparation and sportsmanship during the competition. The officials also acknowledged the efforts of students who took part in the event.
The organisers held a formal felicitation ceremony at the conclusion of the competition. The winning teams received medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements.
The event formed part of National Sports Day 2026 activities organised through the Sports Section of the Deputy Education Office, South Andaman. It brought together students from government and private schools in and around the headquarters area for an inter-school competition focused on sports knowledge.
With the final round deciding the rankings, SSS NCS emerged as the first-place winner, followed by SSS MGIS in second position and SSS Carmel in third.
The competition ended with the presentation of medals and certificates to the winning teams, marking the conclusion of the inter-school sports quiz.
