Sri Vijaya Puram, June 11: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Sri Vijaya Puram, will organize a benefit distribution and awareness programme under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) on June 19.
The programme, scheduled to be held at 5 pm at Aapda Prabandhan Bhawan, forms part of a nationwide outreach initiative being conducted by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
According to officials, the national event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, with proceedings to be live-streamed during the local programme in Sri Vijaya Puram.
The event will focus on creating awareness about the objectives and benefits of PMVBRY while facilitating the distribution of scheme benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
Representatives of industrial establishments, employers, employees, beneficiaries and other stakeholders are expected to participate in the programme.
Officials said the scheme aims to encourage formal employment and expand social security coverage among workers while supporting employment generation across the country.
During the event, information will be shared on various aspects of PMVBRY, including eligibility criteria and benefits available to employees and employers under the scheme.
EPFO has invited employers’ associations, trade bodies, workers and beneficiaries to attend the programme and contribute to the effective implementation of the initiative.
The awareness drive is expected to help increase participation in formal employment systems and improve access to social security benefits for eligible workers.
