Police Station Billiground Disposes 24 Case Properties

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 13: Police Station Billiground disposed of a total of 24 case properties on May 11 in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Mayabunder, as part of efforts to ensure proper implementation of legal procedures and maintain transparency in the justice delivery process.

Officials stated that the disposal process was carried out in accordance with Order No. 06 dated April 28, 2026 issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mayabunder.

According to police authorities, the disposed properties included one case related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), eleven case properties linked to Unnatural Death (UD) cases and twelve cases registered under Excise Regulations.

Police stated that all case properties related to matters already concluded before the competent court of law were disposed of following prescribed legal procedures and relevant statutory provisions.

Officials said the disposal exercise was conducted under proper supervision in the presence of the Executive Magistrate to ensure compliance with legal norms and transparency in the handling of case materials.

The action was described as part of the police department’s ongoing efforts to streamline management of pending case properties and maintain proper records within police stations.

Authorities stated that timely disposal of concluded case properties is important for efficient administration, reduction of storage burdens and strengthening institutional accountability.

Police officials further stated that such measures help ensure effective implementation of judicial and administrative processes while maintaining public trust in the justice delivery system.

The disposal of excise-related case properties also reflects continuing enforcement measures undertaken against violations of excise regulations in the region.

Officials noted that NDPS-related case materials are disposed of strictly in accordance with legal guidelines due to the sensitive nature of narcotics-related offences.

The police department stated that proper disposal procedures are essential for maintaining transparency, accountability and adherence to court directions in criminal justice administration.
