Counselling for Professional and Technical Courses Scheduled on August 20 in Andaman and Nicobar

Sri Vijaya Puram, August 12:  Candidates seeking admission to professional, technical and non-technical courses reserved for students of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at mainland institutions will attend counselling on August 20 after the administration finalised the merit lists for several medical courses and announced the schedule for seat allotment.

The administration said no claims or objections were received within the stipulated period against the provisional merit lists for BDS, BAMS, BHMS, MBBS (Malayalee Origin) and BAMS (Malayalee Origin). As a result, the provisional lists for these courses have been treated as the final merit lists.

Counselling will begin at 10 am on August 20 at the auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Sri Vijaya Puram. The process will cover admissions to several professional courses as well as surrendered and vacant seats in B.Ed. (Bhopal), B.E./B.Tech. lateral entry programmes and postgraduate courses.

The seats available include one MBBS (Malayalee Origin) seat, one B.Sc. Agriculture (Malayalee Origin) seat, two General Nursing and Midwifery (Malayalee Origin) seats, two B.Sc. Nursing seats, eight B.Sc. Agriculture seats, five B.Sc. Horticulture seats, two Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) seats, two B.Tech. Fisheries Engineering seats, two B.Tech. Biotechnology seats, one B.Tech. Food Technology seat, two B.A. LL.B seats and ten General Nursing and Midwifery seats.

The counselling will also include four surrendered or vacant B.Ed. seats at Bhopal, five vacant B.E./B.Tech. lateral entry seats across Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, along with 12 surrendered or vacant postgraduate seats in MBA (Business Administration), MBA (Tourism), M.Sc. Ecology, M.Sc. Environmental Science, M.Sc. Physics, MA Economics, MA History, MA Hindi, MA Philosophy, MA Anthropology and MA Sanskrit.

Candidates whose names appear in the final merit lists have been directed to attend the counselling in person with original educational certificates and testimonials, five passport-size photographs, two permanency certificates for sureties and documents supporting their category, where applicable.

The administration stated that seats remaining unfilled in their respective categories may be allotted from Category V according to merit. Fresh eligible candidates interested in surrendered or vacant seats have also been asked to attend the counselling with all original documents. It further clarified that no subsequent claim will be entertained from candidates who fail to appear in person or do not produce the required original certificates during counselling.
