Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 31: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has secured the highest national ranking in e-KYC verification of active workers under the Viksit Bharat, Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, with 99.84% of registered active workers completing the process as of October 30.
The Union Territory ranked first among all States and Union Territories, according to the Administration. The high verification coverage is significant for the authentication of worker records and the reliability of data used to implement and monitor the rural employment programme.
Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification serves as a mechanism to authenticate workers’ records and strengthen the accuracy of programme data. The process also aims to improve transparency and accountability in the implementation of the rural employment scheme by supporting digital governance and more reliable monitoring.

The verification exercise involves multiple levels of the rural development administration, including the Directorate of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies (RD, PRIs and ULBs), district administrations, block-level officials and Gram Panchayats.
The Administration attributed the achievement to the coordinated efforts of these institutions and other functionaries engaged in implementing the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025.

The 99.84% completion rate places the Union Territory ahead of other States and Union Territories in the national e-KYC exercise. The remaining 0.16% of active workers have yet to complete the verification process, based on the reported figure.
The exercise forms part of the digital verification framework intended to improve the integrity of worker records and strengthen the monitoring of rural employment programme implementation.
