Sri Vijaya Puram, November 6: A workplace health screening camp in Diglipur examined 79 government employees, combining routine checks for blood pressure and blood sugar with portable X-ray screening as part of efforts to strengthen tuberculosis detection under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The camp was organised at the Assistant Commissioner’s Office in Diglipur by the TB Unit of the Sub-District Hospital, Diglipur, under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner and the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital. Employees from various government departments operating from the administrative building participated in the screening exercise.
Medical teams assessed participants for key health parameters, including blood pressure and blood sugar levels. They also deployed a portable handheld X-ray machine to facilitate rapid screening and obtain diagnostic data during the camp.
The initiative formed part of the TB-Free Workplace programme, which seeks to extend health screening beyond conventional healthcare facilities and bring diagnostic services to government employees at their workplaces.
The Diglipur camp also forms part of a wider effort to extend similar screening facilities to employees of other government departments across the Administration. The stated objective is to broaden access to workplace health checks and encourage early identification of health concerns through organised screening.
By taking screening services directly to government offices, the initiative aims to make health assessments accessible to employees while strengthening the Administration’s efforts towards the national goal of a TB-Free India.
The proposed expansion to other departments would extend the reach of such workplace-based screening exercises beyond the administrative building in Diglipur.
