Sri Vijaya Puram, July 31: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, will conduct a Special Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex in Port Blair on August 1, 2026, to facilitate the settlement of pending cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act through mutual agreement between the parties.
The initiative aims to provide an opportunity for litigants involved in such cases to resolve their disputes through consensual settlement during the special hearing.
The Special Lok Adalat will take up cases pending before different courts where parties are willing to reach an agreement and settle their disputes through the process facilitated by the legal services authority.

Parties involved in eligible cases have been requested to submit their disputes in writing to the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Port Blair, before July 31, 2026. The submissions will allow the authority to process the matters and prepare them for hearing during the Special Lok Adalat scheduled on August 1.
The legal services authority has informed that the cases will be considered for disposal based on settlement reached between the parties. The process will provide an opportunity for resolving pending disputes through a mutually agreed mechanism.
The Special Lok Adalat will be held at the District Court Complex, Port Blair, where the listed cases will be taken up for consideration.
The initiative forms part of the legal services mechanism aimed at facilitating access to justice and providing avenues for timely resolution of disputes through settlement-based proceedings.
Parties interested in placing their disputes before the Special Lok Adalat have been advised to complete the submission process within the prescribed deadline to ensure that their cases can be considered during the scheduled hearing.
