Andaman to Host Monsoon Food & Culture Festival 2026, Invites Local Entrepreneurs and Artisans

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 14: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration will organise the second edition of the Monsoon Food & Culture Festival 2026 from July 17 to 19 at the ITF Ground in Sri Vijaya Puram, bringing together local entrepreneurs, artisans, food businesses and cultural performers to showcase the Islands’ culinary heritage and tourism potential.

Organised by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with allied departments of the Administration, the festival, branded as #MonsoonMagic2026, will begin at 4 pm each day and is aimed at promoting island-based entrepreneurship while providing a platform for local products, cuisine and cultural performances.

The Tourism Department has invited hoteliers, restaurant owners, café operators, food entrepreneurs, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, farmers, start-ups, home chefs and local entrepreneurs to participate by setting up exhibition and food stalls during the three-day event.

Participants will showcase indigenous cuisine, seafood delicacies, organic and farm-fresh produce, traditional recipes, handmade crafts, eco-friendly products and innovative culinary creations representing the unique identity of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Interested participants have been asked to submit applications for stall allotment to the Operational Section of the Directorate of Information, Publicity and Tourism (IP&T) or through email on or before July 15, 2026. The Department has stated that stall allotment will be finalised on the same day to facilitate preparations for the festival. Participants seeking clarification may contact the Manager (Operations), Department of Tourism, during office hours.

Alongside the food festival, the Administration has scheduled a series of cultural performances featuring local artists, educational institutions and government organisations across the three evenings.

On July 17, the programme will commence with a performance by the Andaman and Nicobar Police Band from 5.30 pm to 6 pm, followed by a classical and folk dance presentation by Akhanya Sujit and Group. The Indian Navy Band will perform from 6.10 pm to 6.30 pm, while the evening will conclude with a live song and dance programme by the Geet Sangeet Musical Group from 6.30 pm to 9 pm.

On July 18, local dance troupes and students of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) will perform from 5.30 pm to 7 pm, followed by musical performances by singers from the Andaman and Nicobar Administration’s AS (GA) team until 9 pm.

The final day of the festival on July 19 will feature performances by MY Bharat and Sur Sangam from 5.30 pm to 7 pm, followed by live band performances from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The Monsoon Food & Culture Festival forms part of the Administration’s efforts to promote tourism, encourage local entrepreneurship and provide greater visibility to the Islands’ food traditions, cultural heritage and locally produced goods.
