A&N Administration Launches Capacity Building Drive Using AI-Based Learning Platform

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 19: Strengthening the skills and competencies of government officials through technology-driven learning was the focus of a workshop organized by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration in collaboration with the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), New Delhi, on Thursday.

The workshop on developing Comprehensive Capacity Building Plans (CBPs) using iGOT-AI was conducted by the Administrative Reforms and Training Wing (AR&Trg.) at the Auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education in Sri Vijaya Puram. Officials from various departments of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration participated in the programme.

The initiative aimed to sensitize departments on the preparation of Capacity Building Plans designed to identify and address competency gaps among government personnel. The plans are intended to support continuous learning and improve administrative effectiveness through structured training interventions.

According to officials, competency gaps identified through the iGOT-AI platform will be systematically addressed through targeted learning modules and courses available on the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) platform. The exercise is expected to help departments create customized learning pathways aligned with their functional requirements and workforce development needs.

Addressing the inaugural session, Satnam Singh, Secretary (AR & Training), underlined the importance of continuous learning and professional development in modern governance. He emphasized that capacity building remains a key component in enhancing administrative efficiency and improving service delivery mechanisms.

The programme also featured a virtual keynote address by Chandralekha Mukherjee, Principal Advisor, Capacity Building Commission. During her address, she highlighted the significance of structured capacity-building initiatives and the role of digital platforms in strengthening institutional capabilities across government departments.

A technical session formed a major component of the workshop and was conducted by Uzair Simnani, Programme Coordinator, Capacity Building Commission, New Delhi. The session provided participants with practical training on the use of iGOT-AI for preparing department-specific Capacity Building Plans.

Officials were guided through the process of utilizing artificial intelligence-based tools to assess competency requirements and design customized development plans suited to the operational needs of their respective departments.

The workshop forms part of ongoing efforts to institutionalize competency-based learning within government departments and promote a culture of continuous professional development. Through the adoption of digital learning platforms and data-driven training strategies, the Administration aims to strengthen governance systems and enhance the capacity of its workforce to meet evolving administrative challenges.
