South Andaman Zilla Parishad Inspects Rural Road Works, Stresses Quality and Deadlines

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: Zilla Parishad South Andaman has reviewed the progress of two ongoing rural road projects in Gram Panchayat Wimberlygunj, directing engineering officials to maintain construction quality and complete the works within the approved timeline.

The inspection was led by Zilla Parishad South Andaman Adhyaksh P. Ummer, accompanied by Works and Development Committee Chairman P.A. Sharfuddin, Zilla Parishad Member for Wimberlygunj Constituency A. Ummer, Zilla Parishad Member for Ferrargunj Constituency Abdul Bashir, Superintending Engineer (PRI) S.K. Gupta and the engineering team of the Zilla Parishad.

The team inspected two road construction works being executed under Gram Panchayat Wimberlygunj. These include the rural road from Zilla Parishad Road to Chaya Rani House at Ward No. 9 and the rural road from Zilla Parishad Road to the Anganwadi Centre at Azad Nagar in Ward No. 9.

During the visit, the inspection team assessed the progress and quality of construction at both project sites. The Adhyaksh reviewed the pace of execution and instructed engineering officials to ensure that the works are carried out strictly in accordance with the approved specifications.

He also directed that both road projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe, underscoring the importance of timely execution of public infrastructure works.

Superintending Engineer (PRI) S.K. Gupta briefed the inspection team on the present status of the ongoing construction works and provided updates on their implementation.

The inspection focused on monitoring the execution of the projects and reviewing compliance with technical standards during construction.

According to the Zilla Parishad, the inspection forms part of its efforts to oversee the implementation of rural infrastructure projects and ensure that development works are completed as scheduled.

The visit also reflected the Zilla Parishad South Andaman’s focus on monitoring public works aimed at improving rural infrastructure and facilitating the timely execution of development projects for the benefit and convenience of residents in the area.
