‘Your Money, Your Right’: UTLBC Launches Major Outreach in Mayabunder and Car Nicobar

Date:

The Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee (UTLBC) of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will conduct two Mega Awareness Camps on November 21 in Mayabunder and Car Nicobar under the nationwide campaign “Your Money, Your Right.” The initiative, launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, aims to help citizens identify and reclaim unclaimed financial assets.

The camps will be organized by the Lead District Manager (LDM) units of North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar District. The Mayabunder event will be held at the Rampur Panchayat Hall from 10 am, while the Car Nicobar camp will take place at the Teetop Community Hall. Local leaders, including the Pradhan of Rampur Gram Panchayat and the Captain of Teetop Village, will attend to encourage public participation.

The initiative focuses on unclaimed deposits lying in banks, pending insurance proceeds, unclaimed mutual fund units, pension dues, and various dormant financial assets. The camp will allow eligible beneficiaries to complete on-the-spot verification and submit claims without needing to navigate lengthy bureaucratic processes.

UTLBC officials have highlighted that many individuals remain unaware of unclaimed deposits in the names of deceased relatives or dormant accounts that were never closed. The campaign seeks to bridge this information gap and ensure rightful claimants receive pending dues.
