Traffic Restrictions on Dharamsala–RK Mission Route for Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 30: Traffic restrictions will affect commuters travelling along the Dharamsala–RK Mission stretch in Sri Vijaya Puram on October 30 and 31, with the South Andaman district administration announcing diversions and movement regulations ahead of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade. The restrictions will cover the stretch passing Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School, where the Andaman and Nicobar Police will organise the parade on October 31.

In a notification dated October 29, District Magistrate, South Andaman, issued the traffic regulation order under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, read with the Administration notification dated March 10, 2008.

The restrictions will apply to the route from Dharamsala (SVPMC) to RK Mission Traffic Point via Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School. The administration has specified separate time windows for the parade rehearsals and the final programme.

On October 30, traffic diversion and regulation of public movement will remain in force from 7 am to 8.30 am and again from 2.30 pm to 4 pm. On October 31, restrictions will apply from 2.30 pm to 4 pm.

The arrangements are expected to affect commuters using the designated stretch during these hours, particularly those travelling through the school route. The notification identifies the affected corridor and the periods during which traffic movement will be regulated.

The District Magistrate has asked the public to cooperate with the authorities and comply with the notified restrictions to avoid disruption during the rehearsal and the main parade.

Commuters using the Dharamsala–RK Mission route will need to account for the specified restriction periods while planning their movement through the area. The order applies to the identified stretch and the stated time slots.
