Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 27: A month-long holiday camp aimed at strengthening practical learning in science will be conducted by the Science Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram, for students of Classes VI to VIII from May 2 to May 30, 2026.

The initiative targets school students during the summer break and focuses on hands-on training across multiple scientific disciplines. According to officials, the programme will include structured sessions in Aero Modeling, Creative Science, Ship Building, Model Rocketry, Robotic Science, Fun Biology, Astronomy and Telescopic Making, and Fun Chemistry.

The camp has been designed to ensure in-depth engagement, with two subjects assigned each week. Each module will include practical experiments and guided learning sessions to help students understand core scientific concepts through application-based methods. Classes will be conducted daily from 9:15 am to 1:00 pm.

Registration for the programme began on April 24 and will remain open until April 30, 2026. Interested students can enrol through the official online portal or visit the Science Centre during working hours between 10:30 am and 5:00 pm within the registration period.

Authorities have set a registration fee of Rs. 500 per trade or training module. The structured fee system allows participants to choose specific disciplines based on interest, enabling focused learning during the camp duration.

To facilitate accessibility, the Science Centre has also arranged transportation services for enrolled students. Two bus services will operate across areas in and around Sri Vijaya Puram, providing pickup and drop facilities during the camp period. The transport service will be available at a charge of Rs. 250 per trade per week.

Officials stated that the transport arrangement aims to ensure safe and convenient travel for students attending the sessions regularly, particularly those residing at a distance from the Science Centre.

For additional information or assistance regarding registration and participation, the Science Centre has provided contact numbers for public queries.

The holiday camp is positioned as an opportunity for students to engage in experiential learning during the academic break while building foundational skills in science through structured and supervised activities.
