Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 8: Harbour ferry services operating from Phoenix Bay will remain suspended for five-and-a-half hours on August 9 due to administrative reasons, with commuters and tourists advised to plan their travel accordingly. The suspension will be in effect from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., while alternative and emergency ferry arrangements will remain available during the period.
Emergency ferry services between Phoenix Bay and Bambooflat will continue to operate throughout the suspension period, providing connectivity on the route despite the temporary halt in regular harbour ferry services from Phoenix Bay.
To facilitate commuter movement, additional passenger ferry services will also operate from Chatham Jetty to Bambooflat and Hope Town during the suspension. These additional services will run in addition to the promulgated schedule already in place for the routes.

The temporary change in ferry operations will apply specifically during the period from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on August 9. Commuters using Phoenix Bay services have been advised to take note of the revised arrangements and consider the alternative services available during the affected hours.
The continuation of emergency services between Phoenix Bay and Bambooflat is intended to maintain ferry connectivity during the suspension period. At the same time, additional services from Chatham Jetty to Bambooflat and Hope Town will provide another travel option for passengers.
All ferry services on the routes covered by the advisory will return to normal operations from 6 p.m. on August 9.
The authorities have asked all commuters and tourists to plan their movements in accordance with the temporary service arrangements. Passengers travelling during the affected hours will therefore need to account for the suspension of regular Phoenix Bay harbour ferry services and make use of the emergency or additional services available.
The temporary arrangements will remain in force only for the specified period on August 9, after which normal ferry operations will resume from 6 p.m.
