North & Middle Andaman Moves to Strengthen Youth Participation Through MY Bharat

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 21: Strengthening youth participation and improving coordination among government departments emerged as key priorities at a District Advisory Committee meeting of MY Bharat in North & Middle Andaman, where officials discussed ways to expand outreach and coordinate youth-oriented programmes at the district level.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, Sushant Padha, with MY Bharat serving as the coordinating organisation. The discussions focused on increasing the active engagement, participation and empowerment of young people across the district.

Addressing the committee, Padha outlined the objectives and initiatives of MY Bharat and stressed the importance of ensuring greater youth involvement in programmes and activities. He also referred to recent initiatives, including the Viksit Bharat–Vibrant Village Programme and opportunities for young people to interact with the Prime Minister.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the role of youth in the nation-building process, placing their participation and empowerment at the centre of the discussions.

The meeting subsequently featured a detailed presentation by MY Bharat Member Secretary Deepak Kumar on various Government of India schemes and initiatives being implemented through the organisation.

The presentation provided the committee with an overview of the schemes and initiatives being taken forward through MY Bharat, while the meeting also brought representatives of various line departments and other stakeholders together for discussion and coordination.

A major focus of the deliberations was the need for stronger cooperation between departments in implementing youth-oriented programmes. Participants also discussed the importance of effective outreach to ensure that such initiatives reach young people at the district level.

The committee emphasised coordinated implementation of youth-focused programmes and initiatives, with inter-departmental cooperation identified as an important element in strengthening their delivery.

The meeting also provided a platform for interaction among government departments and stakeholders involved in youth-related initiatives. Discussions centred on improving coordination and outreach while strengthening implementation at the district level.
