DSS Sets Strict Boarding Deadline for MV Swaraj Dweep’s November 4 Sailing to Visakhapatnam

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, November 2: Passengers travelling from Sri Vijaya Puram to Visakhapatnam aboard MV Swaraj Dweep must complete their boarding formalities within the designated hours, as the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) has announced strict cut-off timings for passenger embarkation and excess baggage loading.

The vessel will depart for Visakhapatnam at 10 am on November 4. Passenger embarkation will take place between 7 am and 9 am on the day of departure. DSS has made it clear that passengers who fail to report within the stipulated period will not be permitted to board the vessel.

The boarding window will close one hour before the scheduled departure, leaving passengers with a limited period to complete the embarkation process. The restriction also applies to excess baggage, which must be loaded during a separate window on the preceding day.

Excess baggage loading has been scheduled from 2 pm to 4 pm on November 3. Passengers requiring excess baggage or cargo transportation must complete the booking process in advance through the Commercial Wing of DSS.

The advance booking requirement means passengers must arrange their baggage and cargo consignments before reporting for loading, rather than relying on arrangements at the time of departure.

DSS has advised passengers to reach the vessel well before the respective cut-off times to avoid missing the sailing. The department has reiterated that it will not entertain late arrivals for passenger embarkation, and those reporting after the closure of boarding will be denied entry to the vessel.

Passengers planning to travel to Visakhapatnam have therefore been advised to account for the prescribed reporting and baggage-loading schedules while making their travel arrangements.
