New Delhi, Sept. 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received birthday greetings from foreign leaders and diplomats on Thursday, with messages from Dominica, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Israel highlighting India’s bilateral relationships and continued engagement with partner countries.
Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit conveyed greetings on behalf of his government and people, wishing Modi good health and continued strength in serving the people of India.
Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Mahishini Colonné also extended birthday wishes, referring to the enduring friendship and close partnership between Sri Lanka and India. She wished Modi good health, happiness and continued success.
The Embassy of the Netherlands in India recalled the strategic partnership signed during Modi’s visit to the Netherlands in May 2026, while extending birthday greetings to the Prime Minister. The mission said the agreement had elevated bilateral collaboration and that ties between the two countries had continued to strengthen.
Switzerland’s Ambassador to India Maya Tissafi also greeted Modi and referred to opportunities for greater cooperation between India and Switzerland. Her message wished for India’s continued growth and deeper engagement between the two countries.
Daniel Carmon, former Israeli Ambassador to India, also posted birthday greetings for Modi, describing him as a respected world leader and referring to his friendship with Israel.
The messages came as greetings continued to reach Modi from abroad on his 76th birthday, bringing together official and diplomatic expressions from countries with which India maintains bilateral relationships.
The birthday messages also referred to areas of ongoing diplomatic engagement, including strategic cooperation with the Netherlands and partnership with Sri Lanka and Switzerland.
The greetings were shared through social media posts and official diplomatic channels, with foreign representatives using the occasion to acknowledge India’s relationships with their respective countries.
