Sri Vijaya Puram, July 20: A case involving a minor girl has taken a tragic turn after 23-year-old Bishal Biswas, who had gone missing after an incident that led to a police complaint, was found hanging from a tree in a remote area of Dasrathpur on July 16. Police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case and launched an investigation, while the post-mortem report is awaited to determine the exact cause and circumstances of his death.
According to information received from sources, Bishal Biswas and the minor girl were reportedly in a relationship. On the day of the incident, the two had allegedly gone to Ramnagar Beach together. Later, after the girl returned home, Bishal reportedly had no means of transport to return. The girl is said to have asked him to stay at her house for the night, and he allegedly entered her room through a window at the rear of the house.
Sources claimed that sometime later another youth allegedly informed the girl’s father that someone had entered the house. After reportedly hearing voices from his daughter’s room, the father went to check and allegedly found Bishal inside. Bishal is said to have fled through the same window before escaping from the area. The girl’s father reportedly chased him but could not catch him.
By the time the girl’s father returned home, the minor had also left the house. Police traced her the following evening. During questioning, she reportedly stated that she had gone voluntarily and that no physical assault or any other offence had taken place. After completion of the required legal formalities, she was reunited with her family.
Meanwhile, the girl’s father lodged an FIR in connection with the incident.
According to sources, Bishal Biswas had been staying at a relative’s residence as he had no immediate family at the location. He reportedly left the house at around 6 a.m. on July 10 and was expected to appear before the police later that day. However, after leaving the residence, he was not seen again.
On July 16, police received information about an unidentified body hanging from a tree in a remote area of Dasrathpur. A police team rushed to the spot, where local residents who knew Bishal from his earlier work in the area identified the deceased.
Police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. An Unnatural Death case has been registered, and the investigation is in progress. Officials are awaiting the post-mortem report, which is expected to play a crucial role in determining the exact cause and circumstances surrounding Bishal Biswas’ death.
