Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 29: The Police Marine Force (PMF) of the Andaman & Nicobar Police conducted a special cleanliness drive at its Marine Police Operational Centres and marine assets on September 27, linking the exercise to World Tourism Day and the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.
The drive followed directions issued by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and focused on improving cleanliness, hygiene and environmental responsibility across PMF operational establishments. Personnel carried out cleaning and upkeep of the operational centres and allotted PMF assets, including boats.
They also cleared waste and unwanted material from areas surrounding the office premises and disposed of the collected material properly. The exercise placed particular attention on keeping operational premises and boats clean and orderly.
The cleanliness effort also focused on the wider importance of maintaining hygienic surroundings in coastal and maritime areas, which contribute significantly to the tourism environment of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
PMF personnel took part in the activity as part of the campaign’s cleanliness and environmental objectives. The initiative covered both operational facilities and marine assets, bringing routine upkeep of the force’s working spaces within the scope of the special drive.
The Police Marine Force said it remains committed to supporting the objectives of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign and contributing to a clean, safe and sustainable maritime environment in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The activity was conducted on September 27 in connection with the observance of World Tourism Day and as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, with the cleanliness work extending across PMF operational centres, their surrounding areas and allotted marine assets.
