Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 01: Mahalal Murmu, 37, has been missing since September 13 after he went to Kali Mandir at Brijgunj with his wife, prompting Pahargaon Police Station to register a missing-person case and seek public assistance in tracing him.
According to the report filed by his wife, Nirmala Marandi, the couple had visited the temple at around 7 pm on September 13 to perform ritual rites. During the visit, Murmu went missing and could not be traced thereafter.
Marandi reported the disappearance at Pahargaon Police Station on September 15, following which an FIR was registered.
Police have described Murmu as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a shallow complexion, an oval face and black-and-white hair. He was reportedly wearing a grey and blue half-pant and a green half-sleeves shirt when he disappeared.
The police notice also states that Murmu is reportedly mentally challenged.
The authorities have appealed to members of the public to share any information that could help establish his whereabouts. Anyone with information has been requested to contact the nearest police station or police authorities.

The appeal comes as police continue efforts to trace Murmu following the report of his disappearance from the Brijgunj area on September 13.
