Moscow, Aug 17 (TWA): Kseniya Alexandrova, a 30-year-old Russian model, actress and Miss Universe 2017 contestant, has died of injuries sustained in a car accident, barely four months after her wedding.

Alexandrova, who earned national recognition as the first runner-up in Miss Russia 2017 before representing her country on the global stage, was traveling with her husband on July 5 when tragedy struck. Their sports car collided with an elk that suddenly darted across a highway in Tver Oblast, northwest of Moscow.

She was seated in the passenger seat at the time of the collision. The force of the impact was devastating, with the animal crashing through the windshield. According to her husband, the elk’s legs pierced the glass, striking Alexandrova directly and shattering her skull. “From the moment it jumped out to the impact, a split second passed. I didn’t have time to do anything. The elk flew into the car. The blow hit Ksyusha in the head. She was unconscious, her head was broken, everything was covered in blood,” he told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Other drivers rushed to the scene, and emergency responders transported her to a hospital in Moscow. Despite weeks of intensive care, Alexandrova remained in critical condition and never regained consciousness. She died on August 12 from severe brain injuries.

The accident has sparked renewed debate in Russia about road safety and collisions with wild animals, which remain a persistent hazard on highways in wooded regions like Tver Oblast.

Alexandrova’s death has left the Russian fashion and entertainment community in shock. Known for her vibrant presence on the runway and social media, she had also been pursuing acting and modeling assignments internationally. She frequently shared glimpses of her personal life with her followers, including her March 22 wedding — a celebration of joy that has now turned into heartbreak for her family and fans.

Tributes have poured in from fellow models, stylists, and fans who described her as “elegant, full of life, and deeply kind.”
