New Bharath Jodo Logo Unveiled in Karnataka, Focus on Youth and Responsible Citizenship

Date:

Bengaluru, Sept. 5: Karnataka’s ‘Bharath Jodo’ initiative, aimed at bringing young people together and encouraging unity, social harmony and responsible citizenship, received a new visual identity on Friday with the unveiling of its logo.

Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, who holds the Sports portfolio, formally launched the logo, while Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar described the new identity as a reflection of the collective aspirations and spirit of unity among the people of Karnataka.

The logo emerged from a public participation exercise that attracted 255 entries from across the state. The process was undertaken to create a distinctive identity for the programme and encourage wider youth engagement in nation-building and responsible citizenship.

The Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath was tasked with examining and assessing the designs submitted by participants. After evaluating the entries, the organisation shortlisted two designs and placed them before Parameshwara for the final selection.

The final logo combines key elements and concepts drawn from both shortlisted designs, giving the initiative a single identity representing its stated themes of unity, togetherness, youth participation and collective strength.

Shivakumar said the logo should be seen as more than a visual mark, describing it as an expression of the hopes and aspirations of the people. He made the remarks while sharing the launch announcement on social media platform X on Friday.

The Chief Minister said the identity had taken shape through public participation, with ideas from the shortlisted entries incorporated into the final design. He added that the initiative would serve as a flagship programme to bring young people together, foster responsible citizenship and encourage their active participation in nation-building.

The public contribution to the design process, Shivakumar said, also helped establish an identity reflecting collective ideas and a sense of togetherness.

The unveiling marks a key step in the rollout of the Bharath Jodo programme across Karnataka. Parameshwara’s approval followed the design evaluation process undertaken by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, which was entrusted with ensuring that the selection remained transparent, fair and professionally assessed.

The initiative’s stated focus remains on youth engagement, social harmony, responsible citizenship and participation in nation-building, with the new logo intended to provide a common visual identity as the programme expands across the state.

In his social media post, Shivakumar said: “Bharath Jodo begins its journey across Karnataka with a new identity — one that belongs to all of us.”
