HRS Holds Shiva Pujan at Ganga Sthal, Unveils Idol and Launches Cleanliness Drive at the Site

 Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 13: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti (HRS) held a Hawan and Pujan ceremony at the Ganga Sthal/Asthi Visarjan Project on Corbyn’s Cove Road on 12 September 2026, where the Shiv Ji Pratima was ceremonially unveiled and participants later undertook a cleanliness drive at the site.

The programme began at 10 a.m. opposite Hornbill Nest and included Vedic chanting, Hawan and Aarti. The rituals were conducted under the guidance of Pandit Ravikesh Chand. A large number of devotees attended the ceremony and offered prayers.

The Shiv Ji Murti was crafted by Raghesh Shasi and his team from Kerala. The programme also included the planting of two Bael (Bilva) trees and a Shami tree. Sheela Singh, Rakeshwar Lall and Anil Kumar Tiwari participated in the plantation activity.

The event was attended by BJP state president Anil Kumar Tiwari, Member of Parliament Bishnu Pada Ray and Senior Vice Chairperson of the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Corporation K. Vetri Velu. Ward councillors C. Karunanidhi, Someshwar Rao and D. Radhika were also present.

Other attendees included Sheela Singh, Susheela Devi, Sekhar Rao, Yaghambaram T, P Yogesh, Arupadi, Sanjay Balan, Dheeraj Ram, Rajesh Puria, Hament Kumar Dhingra, Jitendra Narayan, Gautam Sharma, Murali Dharan and Sonu Raj.

Representing HRS, state vice president N. Venkat Ramana, state youth wing vice president Rajesh Mazumdar, state general secretary (organisation) N. K. Udhaya Kumar and state president of the Sainik Wing P. V. Robin Palani Swamy attended the programme along with members of the Youth Wing and Mahila Morcha.

Following the religious ceremonies, HRS members and volunteers cleaned the surrounding premises. The organisation appealed to islanders, tourists and other visitors to avoid littering and maintain cleanliness at the site.

HRS said the Ganga Sthal/Asthi Visarjan Project and the Shiv Pratima Sthal were developed with funds from the Smart City Project and described the area as a place of faith and respect. It urged visitors to treat cleanliness as a shared responsibility.

The organisation also expressed gratitude to local media organisations, electronic media and YouTube channels, the Traffic Department, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Corporation, Andaman and Nicobar Police and the Andaman and Nicobar Administration for their support.
