Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 26: Several areas in and around Garacharma will face a scheduled power outage on September 26, with electricity supply set to remain suspended from 7:30 am to 1 pm for high-tension cable and low-tension line work.
The shutdown will affect Laxmi Motor, Shivaji Colony, TR Housing, MR Housing, Garacharma Basti, Susan Rose, Garacharma Medical, Kali Mandir, TTI Road, Pump House, Murdha Khadi, IMFC and Agency House. The Garacharma area in its entirety and the 5 MW Solar Power Plant area will also come under the affected supply network.
The Electricity Department has attributed the interruption to two works being carried out on the distribution network. These include replacement of straight and end joints of the HT Aerial Bunched Cable near Murdha Khadi and shifting of an LT line near Shivaji Colony, Garacharma.
The scheduled outage period is tentative. If the work finishes ahead of the stated deadline, the department will recharge the concerned feeders earlier rather than waiting until 1 pm.
The planned interruption has been notified to electricity consumers, members of the public and government departments in the affected areas.

The shutdown forms part of the scheduled work on the electricity distribution infrastructure at Murdha Khadi and Shivaji Colony. Supply will resume through the concerned feeders once the work is completed, with the possibility of earlier restoration if the scheduled activities finish before the tentative shutdown period ends.
